What information we can get from LOAD CURVE?

“The load curve shows the variation of the load on the power station with respect to time is known as load curve.”

What we can obtain?

·         The daily load curve shows the variation of the load on the power station during different hours of day.

·         The area under the daily load curve gives the numbers of units generated in the day.

Unit generated /day =Area under the load curve (kWh)

·         The highest point on the daily load curve presents the maximum demand on the station on that day

·         We can also obtain Average demand from load curve

Average demand 

                            

·         The load curve helps in selecting the size and number of generating units to be on.

·         The load curve helps in preparing the operation schedule of the station.

·         Same way we can find this all data for week ,month, year by weekly load curve , monthly load curve, yearly load curve.
